A Growing Force: EDGE continues to expand and innovate
In a recent interview with Aggregates Business Europe & Aggregates Business International, Guy Woodford spoke with Steven Conway, Sales Manager at EDGE Innovate, about the company’s ongoing expansion and product development. Speaking at the company’s Dungannon headquarters, it was clear the team at EDGE Innovate has been steadily enhancing its production capacity and facilities over the past five years.
Continuous Growth and Facility Expansion
EDGE Innovate has been undertaking a multi-phase expansion of its manufacturing facilities. The first significant development was the creation of a state-of-the-art shotblasting and painting area, which maximized production efficiency. This was followed by an expansion of the manufacturing sheds, leading to a 30% increase in overall production capacity. The new space now accommodates additional prefabrication areas, welding stations, and final assembly operations. Currently, the company is in the final phase of its expansion, constructing a modern office block aimed at enhancing the visitor experience.
Conway emphasized the importance of these improvements, stating, “It’s important that we can offer a nice working environment, modernize the factories as best we can, and make employees feel as comfortable as possible when they’re working here.” Given the competitive nature of the local engineering and manufacturing industry, particularly in welding and fabrication roles, offering a high quality work environment has helped EDGE Innovate attract and retain skilled staff. The company was one of the first in the area to introduce a four-day work week, which has further enhanced employee retention and job satisfaction. “That attracted people to come and work for the company and we’ve retained that staff in the last couple of years and continued to grow and develop year on year,” Conway added.

At Hillhead 2024 exhibition, EDGE Innovate proudly introduced the SCREENPRO S18, the latest addition to its tracked scalping screens. According to Conway, the S18 has already generated significant demand and is quickly becoming one of the company’s core products. “During the research phase, we engaged closely with our distribution network to discuss specifications and the core requirements for our customers. I believe we’ve successfully designed and launched the SCREENPRO S18, which we feel is a robust, reliable, efficient, and user-friendly machine. It’s also very easy to service and maintain—features that we see as core requirements for any customer in the quarrying and recycling industries ”
EDGE Innovate’s commitment to innovation doesn’t stop there. Conway revealed that the S18 is just the first model in the new SCREENPRO range, with additional models set to launch later this year and into 2025. “This is only the first phase of our development for the SCREENPRO range. Later this year, and into 2025, we’ll offer a range of sizes of screens to meet the varying applications and budgets of our customers,” he said. This product diversification further solidifies the company’s position as a market leader.
Looking Ahead
As always, EDGE Innovate continues to invest heavily in research and development, expanding its product range to meet the evolving needs of its customers. “When the market improves, which undoubtedly it will, we should be in a better position to maximize our overall potential sales to all those new end customers,” he stated.
